 A festival paradise for hardcore clubbers as the midland’s best-known clubbing brand strolls confidently into the summer, flicking the proverbial V-Sign at anyone who questions the viability of superclub-led events. Godskitchen’s speciality is big, one-off events, witness Easter Balls in Belfast and Summer Balls in Edinburgh, but pride of place goes to the 35,000 Global Gathering at Long Marsden Airfield, begun in 2001 and immediately commended for its brazen, in-your-face, no-holds-barred atmosphere.  Global Gathering has no delusions of grandeur; it’s simply a full-on party where the likes of Godskitchen, The Gallery, Bedrock and Sundissential host tents that become frenzied havens of hard house.
