V Festival
If spirituality and running round naked on Ley Lines is your bag, then V2003 will probably offend you like carpaccio offends a vegetarian. But that’s not to detract from the Virgin sponsored event, which is set to be one of the highlights of the 2003 festival season. Launched in 1995 with Paul Weller and Pulp headlining, the event is the first and only dual two-day festival, the line-ups at Chelmsford’s Hyland’s Park and Staffordshire’s Weston Park alternating over the weekend.

It’s extremely safe, reassuringly clean; there are precious little queues and best of all, Richard Branson’s financial clout ensures a glittering array of musical talent, a statement authenticated by this year’s line up of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, The Foo Fighters and David Gray. Very much a festival for the new millennium.
